I try to see the numbers game pattern everywhere I look. In start-ups, in dating, in family, in work. Otherwise, I’d get frustrated pretty quickly.
After you try something a few times, it feels like an eternity. This is mostly due to the fact that luck plays the most important role in our lives. Even if you post the best content on Instagram, you probably won’t go viral. Luck is an important element in every process.
That sounds depressing. It makes you realize how little control you have over your life. What is the solution?
Looking at it as a numbers game.
If you try to build as many start-ups as you can, one of them will eventually succeed. If you try to post as much content as you can, one of them will eventually go viral. If you build features as much as you can, one of them will be liked.
If you try it enough times, it will eventually work. I don’t trust my luck. I don’t know if I will make something work or break. I can’t control that. All I can control is the input. It’s a numbers game.
